The Kingdom; Transcending Geographical and Spiritual Boundaries
The more I work with social media the more I am convinced that these tools were given to the Church to advance the Kingdom. The Internet is really a “Kingdom not of this world” yet nobody can doubt its power or its ability to reach the masses quickly. The recent viral explosion of the Koni 2012 video on You Tube amassing 80 million viewers in a couple of days further proves the point.
Is there such a thing as “community” in cyberspace? Ask any Facebook participant and they will tell you. Living thousands of miles apart or being across the street doesn’t matter. What matters is the power of the relationship. Umm…. doesn’t that sound like Christianity?
I grant you while cyberspace relationships may transcend the boundaries of geography they have their limitations especially when doing discipleship. What I believe is that the benefits greatly outweigh any of the missing elements of normal “follow me” discipleship.
Can real authentic Christianity become a viral explosion? Yes! Driven by the power of the Holy Spirit just like when a thirsty person sees a water commercial on TV and has to get up to get a drink. So it will be in cyberspace when King Jesus anoints a form of media, done with a pure heart and unadulterated by the greed, commercialism and pride so common these days. Some believe it will be the documentation of signs and wonders. I believe it will be the documentation of the results of revival such as; repentance, brokenness, forgiveness, sacrificial giving and most of all pure God-like love which results in multi-cultural, multi-racial, and Christian multi-faith unity. No one time event will do. This will be a gully washer from heavens throne that will last for days and the effects of it will release the greatest worldwide evangelization and building of the Kingdom of God since the first century.
Get-ready, Get ready, and Get ready!
